An IP address can be static or dynamic. When an IP address is static, it means it never changes and it becomes the permanent internet address of a particular device. A dynamic IP address on the other hand is a temporary internet address assigned to a computer each time it accesses the internet. The major advantage of a dynamic address compared to a static IP is there are lesser security risks due to the fact that the address changes every time the client logs onto the internet. But on the other hand, static address is an excellent choice for hosting and remote computing.
